Anuja Rajendra, as a newcomer to electoral politics, ran in the Democratic primary for the 18th district of Michigan’s State Senate. She ran on a relatively progressive platform to represent women of color in Michigan’s legislature as a response to Trump’s racist platform. She based her campaign on being an outsider who wanted to change the way politics was done.

Democrats will vote for a new Party Chair at a state-wide convention in Detroit on February 2nd. This is a chance to hear and meet the candidates.
