Defend DACA Mike Bishop!

Date:
Fri, Sep 8, 2017 - 4:00pm to 6:00pm

City:

It's blatantly obvious that #DACA overturn is nothing more than red meat for Trump's racist and xenophobic base. This is a statistical minority of people who do NOT represent our country as a whole. Lets remind Mike Bishop that we are a nation of immigrants and that we do not condone unjustified deportation of what some estimate could be up to two million Dreamers who -- like us -- are productive members of society who only wish to make a better life for themselves and their families. If you cannot attend, please share!

Where is Mike Bishop?

Date:
Tue, Aug 29, 2017 - 4:00pm to 6:00pm

City:

It's been confirmed that Mike Bishop will not be holding a time honored town hall during the August recess. We need to show up in numbers. I think our signs should reflect that he is not accessible to us and that he needs to hold Trump accountable for his racist rhetoric. Please do not park at the district office. There are businesses nearby to park in and then walk to the office. I'll update as it gets closer.

Livingston For Love Rally

Date:
Sun, Aug 27, 2017 - 1:00pm to 4:00pm

City:

We, in Livingston County, believe in love. We believe in the power of love to create strong beautiful communities, deepen human connection across differences, and conquer the forces of fear and hatred. This week has seen fear and hatred exemplified in the actions of those who marched with symbols and words that proclaimed that one race was superior to another, that some human lives did not have as much worth as others. We’ve seen this before in Livingston County.

Wed, Aug 23, 2017 - 11:00am to 12:00pm

Obviously Trump isn’t interested in protecting our democracy, so you (Bishop!) have to! Indivisible has provided a tool kit for us to use with our members of Congress (MoCs.) It is http://recess.indivisibleguide.com Scroll down and you will see 6 points to discuss with Bishop, but it's also fine to choose a different topic. Please consider making it personal, how does this particular issue effect you and your home town? It's good if you can leave a written statement for Rep Bishop with the staffer.
