The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History is located in the heart of Midtown Detroit's Cultural Center at 315 East Warren Avenue at Brush Street. The museum is located next to the Michigan Science Center and within one block of the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA).

Detroit Monthly Branch Meeting

The meeting will be in the kitchen, enter through the red door off of the parking lot.

Prison Abolition: Imagining a World Without Cages

The United States locks up more people, per capita, than any other country with a staggering 2.3 million people in cages. Those locked up are disproportionately people of color, immigrants, and poor people.

Right now, Wayne County and Rock Ventures plan to spend $533 million dollars on a new Criminal Justice Complex (including an adult jail and youth jail), and Ionia is considering a proposed $35 million dollar immigrant detention center.

Our purpose is to educate the community on the many issues that Black women face (Trans violence, sexual assault, domestic violence, etc.) and also celebrate them. Black women are always there to support others and it’s time they receive the same support.
