Michigan-Meta Peace Team Nonviolence Training for Activists and Friends

Starting with the understanding that the primary violence in our world is structural and expressed in systems of oppression, the training will invite participants to learn and practice a variety of active nonviolence skills, including strategies to challenge and interrupt the intimidation and harassment that have escalated since the election. The training will also explore the efficacy of peace teams, offering those who complete the training opportunities to join MPT domestic peace teams and apply to serve on international teams

Earlier this month water protectors of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe won a great victory when the Army Corps of Engineers called for a halt on the construction for the Dakota Access Pipeline. While in some ways this was wonderful news leaving many feeling accomplished and inspired, it is important to remember that the fight is far from over.

Buses to Inauguration in Washington, DC, Jan. 20, 2017

Join with others from metropolitan Detroit as we join hundreds of thousands of people in Washington, D.C., on January 20th to protest the inauguration of Trump. Buses will be leaving from Detroit on Thursday evening and returning early Saturday morning. Participants will sleep on the bus to and from the demonstration.

The cost per seat is $85. We are doing our best to raise funds to offset the transportation costs for those that cannot afford the full cost of a seat.
