Voter Power Happy Hour: a fundraiser for VNP

Date:
Thu, Aug 17, 2017 - 5:30pm to 8:30pm

City:

Join friends, neighbors, volunteers, and other supporters at a happy hour in Midtown Detroit to benefit the Voters Not Politicians campaign.

VNP will be collecting signatures in all 83 counties of Michigan, but that takes a lot of people and money, especially for an all-volunteer organization. Printing petitions, making clipboards, buying pens, shipping everything- it's an expensive endeavor, and we need your help to make it successful.

how do WE become owners, not be the ones owned?
how do we reclaim our economic power, that was stolen from us?

Detroit has undergone a power and pride shift whereby Black and poor people who live in the city have been marginalized and desensitized to the very processes that affect us.

Grits and Politics Detroit is a regular breakfast hosted by former Wayne County Commissioner Keith D. Williams to energize Black people and poor people about political processes.
