Genesee Young Democrats Monthly Social Hour

"All politics are local." - Tip O'Neill

Join the Genesee County Young Democrats for an informal social hour to meet and connect with like-minded peers from the area. We plan on being very active as a group in 2019, with the ultimate goal of creating and mobilizing a new generation of grassroots political activists right here in Genesee County.

We'll host informal social hours every month, on the 3rd Friday, at a different local establishment for a chance to connect, discuss politics over a drink, and learn about ways to become more active citizens.

City:

We gather to remember and honor the transgender people that were killed in the last year as a result of transphobia and to draw attention to the continued violence that the transgender community must endure.

This year, we memorialize 24 trans people. Ranging in age from 18 to 54, these individuals were primarily transwomen of color, but not exclusively. These trans men and woman represent only the small portion of trans people that lost their life from bigotry. A very large number of victims get misgendered and dead-named and have no one to correct the record.
