We are please to announce the date for our county caucus. On Monday, May 21st, we will nominate Green Party candidates for state office where the district lines fall entirely inside Kent County. A list of districts and current candidates will be available on our local website.
This will be at the Garfield Park Lodge located at 334 Burton St SE. We will have light refreshments and snacks available for those in attendance.

April is sexual assault awareness month, and in an effort to address systemic sexual violence, Grand Rapids MI Democratic Socialists of America is hosting an educational event at the Eastown Community Association on April 19th. MSW Candidate Betsie Schoedel will present information on how to identify sexual assault, its systemic nature, and what policies are supported by sexual assault advocates. Snacks will be provided.

Cosecha GR Marshal Training

Cosecha GR needs people, especially allies who can be trained as marshals for actions that Cosecha GR organizes. The role of marshals is to keep people safe from violence, the violence of racist individuals, hate groups and police.

The trainings last 2 hours and include a lot of role playing, so that people can be better prepared to deal with a number of circumstances we may face.

Line 5 Retirement Party!

April 23, 2018, marks the 65th anniversary of Enbridge’s easement that allows them to operate two pipelines, collectively known as Line 5, in the Straits of Mackinac.

It's time for Line 5 to retire. These pipelines were estimated to last 50 years yet, they are currently shipping 23 MILLION gallons of oil & gas through the Great Lakes everyday. Line 5 is a major threat to the drinking water of 35 million people and enough is enough.
