DTE Public Hearing U-14803

Date:
Tue, Nov 28, 2017 - 9:00am to 12:00pm

City:

Last week was the deadline for filing a response for us rate payers to pay for the NEXUS pipeline. A pipeline that we did not want, did not need and we are being forced against our will to pay for. Attend if you can, support is needed. Evidently defunding the banks is not enough.
This hearing will be a prehearing conference to set future hearing dates and decide other procedural matters.

Community Benefits Ordinances: A Lansing Conversation

Date:
Thu, Oct 5, 2017 - 6:30pm to 8:00pm

City:

Join us as we host Rashida Tlaib of the Sugar Law Center and Linda Campbell of the Equitable Detroit Coalition to learn firsthand about their work establishing a community benefits ordinance in Detroit.

A community benefits ordinance is based on the principle that public investment should serve the public good. When real estate developers receive tax abatements from the city, they should commit to legally binding agreements with the larger community, ensuring that the poorest and most ignored of our city have a true voice in the process.
