MCDP Summer Picnic and County Committee Meeting - July

It's a special meeting for the MCDP!! Beginning at 5:30 we will host a picnic for all of our members and guest in the large shelter at Munson Park (near the playground). Please bring a dish to share.

The picnic and social time will last until 7:00 at which point we will begin our normal county committee meeting.

You don't need to be a member of the committee, or a member of the party, to attend, so please come be engaged with your local Democrats!

In 2018, Michigan voters and Voters Not Politicians made history by passing a redistricting reform amendment with 61% of the vote to end gerrymandering.

Join Voters Not Politicians at a Democracy Reform Town Hall to learn more about Michigan’s new redistricting process and how you can participate. The group will also discuss other critical democracy reform issues to strengthen the democratic process through citizen action in Michigan.

Admission is free, and all Michiganders are welcome (including young ones)! However, SPACE IS LIMITED, so please RSVP!

Support Rally for Jose Luis Sanchez Ronquillo

Jose Luis has been moved to the Monroe County Jail in Michigan! This is good news as he is now closer to home and his family can visit him.

With the support of the family, we will be holding a rally for Jose Luis at the immigration detention center in Monroe. With this rally we hope to keep public attention on Jose Luis' case, continue to let the courts know that his case is being closely watched by many, and make sure the jail knows that Jose Luis should be treated with care as there is a community supporting him and looking out for his well-being.
