AT&T Strike! CWA Picket Line!

Date:
Fri, May 19, 2017 - 3:00pm to 6:00pm

40,000 workers at AT&T just announced that they will walk off the job Friday at 3pm ET/Noon PT if they haven't won a fair union contract by then.

This will be the biggest strike in the United States since 40,000 Verizon workers walked out last year, and may be the biggest strike of retail workers at a national company in U.S. history.

Can you join striking workers at a picket line at a nearby retail store Friday, Saturday or Sunday? Please RSVP. We'll let you know if we reach an agreement and don't have to strike on Friday.

Understanding Islamophobia

Date:
Sun, Feb 26, 2017 - 12:00pm to 2:00pm

Since the 2016 election, incidents of hate crimes toward Muslims have increased dramatically according to the Southern Poverty Law Center. President Donald Trump’s controversial Executive Order banning travel to the U.S from several Muslim dominant countries has been met with widespread resistance and was halted temporarily through court challenges. As UU’s, we need to know about the dynamics of Islamophobia and how to be an ally for people from the Islam faith.
