A Discussion on State Repression and Fundraiser for J20 Defendants

Date:
Wed, Oct 25, 2017 - 6:30pm to 11:00pm

City:

Join us for a discussion on escalating state repression and help us raise legal funds for our local friends and J20 defendants. Nearly 200 people (including 8 from Michigan and 4 from Ypsilanti) are facing 75 years in prison for protesting Trump on inauguration day. The only evidence against them was their mass arrest. They were never told to disperse, but were kettled, projectile pepper sprayed, and hoarded into police vans.

Postcard Party: Recovery is Good Policy

Date:
Wed, Oct 25, 2017 - 7:00pm to 10:00pm

City:

Ensuring people have access to the resources they need to get into recovery and stay in recovery is key to having a healthy community. It just makes sense. One of the key barriers to a robust recovery community is the stigma that comes with addiction. Leadership in reducing stigma needs to come from the top. We are joining with "Faces & Voices of Recovery" in their efforts urging our national institutions to remove the word "abuse" from their names. Learn more about this campaign here:
