Talking with Kids About Race (and Racism)

It can be hard enough to talk to adults about race, prejudice, and justice--how do you talk about it with young kids? Equal parts discussion and practice session, this workshop will empower adults with the skills they need to discuss race, racism and fairness with the children in their lives. Participants will also receive four follow up emails to check in about their practice and provide ongoing support.

Childcare available.

We'll hear from a survivor who lost a family member to gun suicide, and who fights every day to ensure this doesn't happen to others. We'll learn what's happening legislatively for gun violence prevention. And we'll take action, writing postcards and making phone calls to our legislators!

Town Hall Meeting on PFAS

Recent reporting has shown there is an expanding PFAS contamination crisis in Michigan and across the country. PFAS chemicals have been linked to liver disease, thyroid dysfunction, and several forms of cancer. These chemicals have continued to show up in drinking water and communities, especially near military facilities, commercial airports, and manufacturing sites. With over 192 sites contaminated, Michigan has the most contaminated sites in the United States.
