Anti-Street Harassment Week

We are organizing a community art event for Anti-Street Harassment Week. We are calling for people of various ages, sexual preference, gender identity and ability to volunteer to be part of a performance art that will take place at the Ypsilanti Bus station on Friday, April 7, 2017. We will arrive at the bus station at 5:00 pm to chalk art on the sidewalk. At 6:00 pm, we will engage in our community Street performance art event. We would like as many people to get involved as possible.

Raising the Trans Flag with Pride

Join the City of Ypsilanti as city employees and community members raise the transgender pride flag together in honor of Transgender Day of Visibility. The flag will be flown with the American flag all day on Friday, March 31st.

The City of Ypsilanti, known historically for being progressive with policy, voted at the most recent council meeting at City Hall to fly the transgender pride flag. The mayor and multiple city council members spoke eloquently about their support to pass the resolution, and the resolution passed unanimously.
