Bystander Intervention Training - Ypsilanti

Date:
Sat, Oct 21, 2017 - 1:00pm to 5:00pm

City:

As we see an increase in hate crimes and attacks against immigrants, Muslims, and other vulnerable populations in our communities, many of us have asked ourselves, “What would or what could I do if I were there?” The good news is that there are skills and techniques that you can learn and practice to keep others safe. You don’t have to be passive. Our 4 hour Basic Bystander Training will show you how to respond. Sheri Wander, with 20+ years of peace keeping training with the Meta Peace Team, and other certified ICPJ facilitators will teach you the basic tactics you can use to deescalate and/or redirect threats and harassment through non-violent methods and strategies. For more info contact, Germaine, germaine@icpj.org or 734-663-1870.
