REDY for results!

Did you know?

The City of Ypsilanti is prepped to adopt a new law, called a Community Benefits Ordinance (CBO), which would ensure residents have a seat at the table with developers to plan local neighborhood projects!

Rising for Economic Democracy in Ypsi (REDY), a coalition of community members and organizations, has worked with Ypsilanti city staff and council members to draft the CBO. We would like to welcome you to our CBO 101 information session where we will update you on our efforts to date and share ways that you can provide input and join our efforts.

We will explore what our community sees as local “benefits”, how we can use a CBO to create mutually beneficial relationships with developers, and how best to represent REDY during a special session that city council will be holding on Wednesday Aug. 29th- where we hope the first draft of the CBO will be approved!

Please join us! There will be a kid’s table with activities and supervision, and you can be assured that the info session will end promptly at eight o’ clock. If you can’t make it, be sure to ‘like’ REDY on facebook to stay updated, catch the livestream and slideshow from this event, and come out to city council’s special ‘CBO’ session on 8/29 where you can show your support! We are happy to have you join our coalition!
