Center of the City Public Meeting

Wed, Nov 6, 2019 - 6:00pm to 8:00pm

We invite you to share ideas for the development of a “Center of the City Commons.” Your input is essential to determine how the future Commons will best serve the entire community.

Please join the Center of the City Task Force anytime between 6-8 pm on Wednesday, November 6, at the 4 th Floor Meeting Room at the Downtown Library ( 343 S. 5th Ave) .

At this gathering, you will have an opportunity to:
● Learn more about the work of the Task Force.
● Offer thoughts on what would make a successful Commons area.
● Sign-up to stay updated on the activities of the Center of the City Task Force.

Last November, voters approved Proposal A to amend the City Charter, which states that City-owned land within what is known as the Library Block, “shall be retained in public ownership, in perpetuity, and developed as an urban central park and civic center commons known as the 'Center of the City.” Since then, City Council formed the citizen led Center of the City Task Force to help determine the future of this area. The Task Force is now seeking
community input to help with this determination.
