Fair Fares Campaign: Action at the DDOT Community Input Meeting

Thu, May 16, 2019 - 5:00pm to 7:00pm

Since the fall, DDOT bus riders have been advocating for a reduced fare for low-income riders. In the ordinance raising fares on most bus riders, Detroit City Council called on DDOT to investigate the feasibility of a reduced low-income fare. Now, six months later, the fares have increased, but DDOT still has taken no action. We're turning out in force at the community input meeting to demand that they treat this as an urgent priority and begin conducting the feasibility study as soon as possible.

Bus riders and allies are invited to join us on Thursday evening, on the second floor of the Rosa Parks Transit Center in downtown Detroit. We will be speaking out on behalf of the Fair Fares campaign and delivering the hundreds of petitions we have collected to DDOT. We cannot be ignored.
