Lights for Liberty Kalamazoo

Fri, Jul 12, 2019 - 7:00pm to 9:00pm

Please join us as we raise our voices and our hearts in unison to demand an end to human detention camps.

1. The event will take place from 7 p.m. and wrap up at 9 p.m.
2. Please support one another by carpooling - inviting your friends and neighbors of all generations.
3. Bring candles or flashlights to share.
4. Bring signs with messages of support for those who live beneath the threat of state violence.
5. Bring notes of support or flowers to place with the Caged Bouquet. The notes will be translated and communicated to people currently living within the camps. (You can do this at any time.)
6. Be prepared to act. Donations will be requested. This vigil will serve to prepare us for action - each in our own way and in solidarity with one another. Reflect on these words from Rev. Dr. King:

"Power without love is reckless and abusive, and love without power is sentimental and anemic. Power at its best is love implementing the demands of justice, and justice at its best is power correcting everything that stands against love."

Thank you to Bryan Heaney and others for your generous donations so far.
