This meeting is a work session between City Council, the Task Force, and the City Administrator. As of 9/6/2018, the City Administrator has submitted his comments on the Police Task Force's draft of a police oversight ordinance that he plans to present to City Council.

In advance of this meeting, please e-mail your City Council representative (info here: ) and tell them two things:
1. The Police Task Force should have 45 minutes to present their work to Council, rather than the Administrator presenting
2. You support the Police Task Force's ordinance for police oversight as drafted, because you support an independent, transparent, funded, and representative Oversight Commission.

The full ordinance is available here:

This meeting will be recorded.
This meeting will have police present.
This meeting will have city administrators present, including the city administrator and city attorney.

The Police Task Force was created by Ann Arbor City Council after years of community organizing for accountability following the killing of Aura Rain Rosser by AAPD in 2014. At this meeting the Task Force will be discussing their draft of the policy that will become a police oversight commission; they were empowered to create this draft by City Council and have done so over the course of four months, involving significant community feedback.

City Hall is located on Huron St., there is an elevator just inside the front doors. There is free parking at the courthouse one block away (on Fourth) and street parking is free after 6PM. There is NOT a gender neutral bathroom inside.
