At this event, three Michigan activists will be sharing knowledge of nonviolent direct action through a series of prepared presentations, activities, and loose group conversations. The day is designed to provide a survey of nonviolent direct action strategies, techniques, and ideas, as well as practical skills such as media creation, coalition building, and navigating legal processes.

Lunch will be provided, as well as a folder full of the information and ideas we cover throughout the day. (We’ll be printing out the papers and stuffing the folders ourselves, so to know how many to make, we really need people to register if they’re coming! Also, we need to know how much food to get!)

All backgrounds in activism are welcome, even if this is a first exposure. The goal of the day is not for attendees to learn and for the organizers of this event to teach, but for us to co-create a learning space in which we can all grow our understanding of our abilities to affect change in our communities.

See you there!
