Washtenaw County Budget Working Session

Date:
Thu, Oct 4, 2018 - 6:30pm to 8:30pm

City:

The Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners will be discussing our next four-year budget (FY2019-2022) at our October 4th working session meeting. The budget is the most important vote the Board of Commissioners takes each year and will be an affirmative vote on how 1.2 billion is to be spent over the next four years.

Anyone is welcome to attend and there is an opportunity for public comment at the start of the meeting. The combined total of all governmental funds for the next four years are:
2019 - $303,050,035
2020 - $307,731,557
2021 - $301,692,706
2022 - $306,380,313

At this point in the budget process, the Administration has recommended a preliminary budget to the Board of Commissioners.

From here, the budget is in the hands of the Board of Commissioners to review, ask questions and make any changes the Board should see necessary to ensure the budget reflects our community values and meets the needs of our residents.

A final vote is expected to be taken at one of our November meetings.

While the document is lengthy and municipal budgets are often not written in a manner that fully displays the actual programming, I welcome any and all public input, questions, thoughts, and ideas on the budget.
