Do you know someone who would make a great representative (maybe yourself?!) - for anything from school board member to congressperson or senator? Have you ever wondered if you have what it takes to run for office? Would you know where to begin?

State Representative Kristy Pagan, MI 21st District

Making the Decision to Run
What Office is Best for Me?
First Steps to Take When Running for Office
How to Build a Team
How to Create a Winning Campaign Strategy

State Representative Kristy Pagan is serving in her second term in the Michigan House of Representatives and was appointed Campaign Chair for House Democrats for the 2017-2018 cycle. In this role, she will help set the vision and strategy of how we recruit, train, and support Democratic candidates for state representative, as well as help elect more Democrats up and down the ballot. This is Kristy’s fifth election cycle working with progressive candidates, having helped candidates run and win at every level of elected office. She is a trained EMILY’s List fundraiser, has completed numerous programs on running for office, including Wellstone Action, Vote Run Lead, Center for Progressive Leadership, the Front Line Leaders Academy, and American University's Women & Politics Institute, and serves on the Board of Emerge Michigan. Kristy graduated from The George Washington University Graduate School of Political Management with a concentration in political leadership. In 2014, Kristy won both a competitive primary and a top-targeted general election for state representative, becoming one of the youngest legislators in Michigan.
