Date:
Fri, Dec 15, 2017 - 11:00am to 11:30am

City:

Join EMUFT, EMU-AAUP, and the campus community for a rally in front of Welch Hall to halt EMU's contract with Academic Partnerships, a private, for-profit firm in Texas, to market EMU-branded degrees entirely online -- with no in-person classroom instruction. These degrees will carry the EMU name. But they won't have the quality, scholarship and service that are hallmarks of a true EMU education.

It's time to hit the pause button and send this secretive deal to the EMU faculty for a thorough review.

Stop the GOP tax scam!

Date:
Thu, Dec 7, 2017 - 4:00pm to 6:00pm

Last Friday, while you slept, behind closed doors and without discussion or debate, Republicans voted to transfer over a billion dollars from working families into the pockets of the wealthiest people and corporations in America with an outrageous tax reform bill.

You weren't dreaming. That really happened.

Stop the TAX SCAM! Tell Walberg!

Date:
Thu, Dec 7, 2017 - 4:00pm to 5:00pm

City:

The GOP is about to vote on the final bill of the #taxscam. This is a bill written by lobbyists in a back room, parts of it by hand illegibly, with no debate, no hearings, no nonpartisan expert analysis. It will add $1.5 trillion to the deficit, raise taxes for everyone making under $75k, devastate grad students and people with student loans, screw over people with high medical expenses, and it is a pretext for gutting medicare, medicaid and social security and food assistance.

Brian Ellison and his campaign will hold a protest in Ann Arbor to let the public know that we will not be silent when the state chooses to violate people’s rights. All individuals who believe in freedom are invited to join.

Starting on 11/8/2017, five Michigan counties began the oral fluid testing program which allows police officers to arrest people for "drugged driving" based on testing that has proven to be statistically unreliable and can detect the presence of controlled substances long after impairment has subsided.
