March in Solidarity with National Prisoner Strike

Prisoners around the country are organizing a national prisoner strike, to begin on August 21 and going through September 9. The strikers are demanding an end to prison slavery in addition to other demands (see below for more details on specific demands). To support the strikers inside, we are organizing this march downtown Lansing to
1. draw attention to the national demands of the prisoners
2. demand no retaliation against participating prisoners in Michigan

In 2010, one of the largest inland oil spills in US history impacted Kalamazoo County when Enbridge’s Line 6B ruptured, spewing nearly 1 million gallons of oil into the Kalamazoo River. People were forced to evacuate their homes, jobs were lost, ecosystems were destroyed, and the safety of our water was threatened.

We Demand Kent County End the Contract with ICE

A measure to end gerrymandering in Michigan just qualified for the November ballot -- and it's already under attack. A dark money group is backing a lawsuit to stop the people of Michigan from voting on whether to end gerrymandering.
