Line 5 Retirement Party

Date:
Mon, Apr 23, 2018 - 5:30pm to 8:00pm

City:

April 23, 2018, marks the 65th anniversary of Enbridge’s easement that allows them to operate Line 5 in the Straits of Mackinac. It's time for Line 5 to retire because 65 years of this pipeline remaining as a threat to the Great Lakes is long enough.

Join us for this special event. We'll watch the livestream video from Traverse City Opera House, and talk with each other about the actions we can all take to shut this pipeline down.

We're providing food and beverages. Come for a great time to learn about this pipeline and how to take action this summer.

The SPARK presents "Every Woman Faces It!"

Date:
Sun, Apr 22, 2018 - 5:00pm to 7:00pm

City:

Every woman has faced sexual harassment -- on the job, in the market, in the streets. Every woman knows of a boss who offers you a better job -- a bargain for sexual favors. And women know it's a vicious bargain. Today, some women have begun to speak out. But there are many more -- working class women -- who would lose their jobs if they did. The fight for their rights goes through the fight of the whole working class against a society run by all kinds of predators.
