Join the ACLU of Western Michigan Local Unit on the third Thursday of the month for its monthly meeting and learn how you can get involved in civil-rights and civil-liberties issues that matter most to you in your community. The ACLU of Western Michigan is engaged in a variety of activism, public education and awareness, and engagement and recruitment activities The next scheduled meeting will take place December 21, at the Wealthy Theater Annex in Grand Rapids.

We started with a 350 person event at the State Capitol in July, and we are ready to begin the Prairie Fire campaign. By this time next year, every politician in this state will be talking about single payer healthcare, and it will be BECAUSE OF YOU.

From Antifascist Street Fighting to Anti-Racist Action (ARA)

Join us for this history lesson that has political and strategic relevancy for today. Two founding organizers of Anti-Racist Action (ARA) will discuss the fight against fascism beginning with Nazi skinheads in the 1980s' counterculture scene to organizing the militant antiracist movement that became known as ARA, which confronted the klan and white supremacy at the end of the twentieth century.
