Shut Down Line 5 - Grass Roots Advocacy Night

Come out to write to your State Representatives and Senators to encourage them to support the shut down of Line 5. Line 5 is an aging oil pipeline that runs through the Great Lakes, just west of the Mackinaw Bridge, which if broken, would contaminate 84% of North America's fresh water, and 21% of the world's fresh water. Paper, envelopes, and stamps will be provided, along with snacks! See you there.

Support Dreamers on the Diag

As part of the “Share the Journey” campaign for immigrants and refugees, St. Mary Student Parish is hosting a Diag Day on Thursday, October 19th from 1-5pm for anyone to come write letters to their representatives in support of the Dream Act.

We will be providing letters for people to personalize or to write their own.

All are welcome! This event will take place on the University of Michigan Central Campus Diag and is open to anyone in the community.

Postcard Party: Recovery is Good Policy

Ensuring people have access to the resources they need to get into recovery and stay in recovery is key to having a healthy community. It just makes sense. One of the key barriers to a robust recovery community is the stigma that comes with addiction. Leadership in reducing stigma needs to come from the top. We are joining with "Faces & Voices of Recovery" in their efforts urging our national institutions to remove the word "abuse" from their names. Learn more about this campaign here:

Postcards for Change: Hunger & Healthcare

Come learn more about the importance of health care in creating a Hunger secure community. All supplies will be provided for postcard writing to local & national leaders.

We want to let our policy makers know that we will not accept any health care policy which makes it impossible for our most vulnerable to access the health care they need.
