Raise the Wages for Janitors and Custodians

Date:
Thu, Jun 14, 2018 - 11:30am

City:

On Thursday, June 14, SEIU launches a major campaign to raise the wages for janitors and custodians in Downtown Detroit to $15 an hour.

It’s amazing to see downtown Detroit bustling with
new investment, new buildings and new people.
We are the janitors and custodians who keep the
“resurgence” clean. Every day we see two Detroits.

One is in our communities where we are struggling to
raise our families and make ends meet, and the other
is the downtown and arena district bustling with new
investment, buildings and people.

Lessenberry protest

Date:
Tue, May 22, 2018 - 6:00pm to 9:00pm

City:

A protest to encourage Wayne State University to take meaningful, and proper action against professor, lecturer and journalism area head Jack Lessenberry. In light of recent events, and allegations of misconduct for decades, we’ve decided to take action as current and former Warriors. He is not the kind of person we feel should be representing our university, or the journalism program. It’s important the proper faculty and administration are aware of our strong feelings to have his teaching privileges revoked.
