Anti-Racism Training Event

Wed, Oct 18, 2017 - 6:30pm to 9:00pm

If you have ever wrestled with the idea of racism, what it is, whether it still is a problem, and how it impacts your life, join us! Even if you have been through anti-racism programs before, we all need frequent refreshers.

Rev. Bryan Smith and Rev. Lindsey Anderson will be leading this 2 1/2 hour program. At the training, we will explore what is meant by racism, a word that is emotionally charged and commonly misunderstood. We will also explore some of the historical and fundamental foundations of racism and how it is destructive to all of us, regardless of race.

Earned Sick Time Ballot Initiative Info Session

Date:
Wed, Oct 4, 2017 - 6:00pm to 9:00pm

City:

Michigan United supports the statewide ballot initiative to win earned paid sick time for Michigan workers.

The fact is, it's not right that workers have to choose between taking the time to get well, to take care of sick children, or paying their bills. Everyone deserves the basic dignity that comes with the time to get better or take care of your family.

Petitions are in the field and we need to get organized!
