Interfaith Solidarity Rally and March

Date:
Wed, Feb 22, 2017 - 5:30pm to 6:30pm

City:

Friends -

Please join Michigan United, APIA Vote, and many others for an interfaith march to support immigrants, Muslims and refugees.

The event will start at Cherry Hill United Methodist Church in Canton and proceed to a mosque, Masjid Bilal, one mile away.

It is the February recess-- a time when members of Congress are back in their districts. It is important that we send an urgent message of solidarity -- people of all faiths stand together against the Muslim ban, the wall, and the deportations that separate families.

Location:
Cherry Hill United Methodist Church, 321 S. Ridge Road, Canton,

March 4 America [counterprotest]

Date:
Sat, Mar 4, 2017 - 1:30pm to 4:30pm

Come out with us to show your patriotism!

A group of Trump supporters have called for a nationwide demonstration of their support for Trump: https://www.march4trump.com/ A local off-shoot will be held at the Calder Plaza at 2:00PM (see discussion for screenshot).

Trump does not stand for American values. Trump stands for Trump alone! Let's show that we as progressive Americans are patriots willing to stand up for our American values. Trump supporters and the GOP do not have a monopoly on patriotism, morals, or principles!

President's Day March Against Trump

Date:
Mon, Feb 20, 2017 - 4:30pm to 6:00pm

Please join us on President's Day for a peaceful march against Trump's presidency. His undemocratic values are not fit for the American president. It is only a matter of time before he's found to be influenced by the Russian government. Join us in this march to show Trump that we will not stand for his illegal and oppressive administration!

Our rallying cry: What did Trump know? When did he know it?

Presidents Day Rally - MQT

Date:
Mon, Feb 20, 2017 - 12:00pm to 1:30pm

City:

Sister rallies in Detroit, New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, etc...

Donald Trump does not represent the progressive values of Marquette, Michigan. We will not honor him on President's Day. While he is technically and literally our President, on a symbolic level he has yet to prove he intends to serve with our interests in mind.

This is a peaceful demonstration. It is a rally, not a march. It will take place on the corner(s) of W. Washington and Third Street.

Location:
Third St. and Washington St, Marquette, MI 49855-4322, United States

Immigrant Solidarity Protest against ICE Detention Center

Date:
Fri, Feb 17, 2017 - 3:00pm to 6:00pm

City:

Workers, documented and undocumented, unite! A general strike has been called for on February 17th 2017. Racist mass deportations have already begun in Detroit and throughout the country. Immigrants are being scapegoated and targeted by the Trump Administration and their reactionary supporters in order to divide the working class and distract us from identifying the real threat and our common enemy: Hate groups, U.S. imperialism, and the bosses. We will start by demonstrating at the main entrance of the ICE Detention & Deportation Center.

Location:
333 Mt Elliott St, Detroit, MI 48207
