We Demand an End to the Kent County Contract with ICE

Date:
Thu, Jun 28, 2018 - 8:00am to 9:00am

The Kent County government currently has a contract with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). This contract is causing tremendous harm to immigrant families and we demand that the Kent County Commissioners terminate the contract with ICE.

Join us at 8am at Calder Plaza for a brief Press Conference and bring signs. Afterwards we will attend the Kent County Commission meeting and during the public comment, invite people to speak about why a contract with ICE does harm in our community. The Kent County Commission meeting is in the County building, third floor, Room 310.

Families Belong Together Rally - Ann Arbor

Date:
Thu, Jun 14, 2018 - 7:00pm to 9:00pm

City:

*Please note: Rally time moved back to 7 p.m.

We will hear from local residents who have had family members caught up in the ICE deportation machine.

We will also raise money for Demba Bagayoko. Demba has lived in Ann Arbor for 17 years and is facing deportation to Mali. We hope to retain a lawyer for him by his hearing on July 23rd. With no legal representation he will not be in a good position trying to go up against ICE in the courtroom by himself.
