Indivisible Ann Arbor

On Sunday, February 19, 2017, some four hundred people in the Ann Arbor area met with the intention of organizing a group to influence Michigan's senators and representatives at the US level. This group is organized on the principles of an organization known as Indivisible.


Immigration Rapid Response

On Thursday, February 16, 2017, an organization called "We the People of Ypsilanti/Ann Arbor" hosted a potluck and panel discussion about immigrant rights, and what can be done to help safeguard them. Some 20 people were in attendance, at a community events space in Ypsilanti, Michigan.

WCDP School Board Unity

I am one of four Ann Arbor Ward 3 Washtenaw County Democratic Party [WCDP] Executive Committee members. There are 66 of us representing all County districts/regions. We are voting on who will lead the WCDP in 2017 today from 1230-2pm at 200 N Main in Downtown.

The Michigan United Statewide Strategy Summit on Immigrant Rights

On Saturday, Dec 10, 2016, Michigan United held a statewide stragegy summit. The purpose of this meeting was to come up with strategies to support immigrant families and stop deportations. Some one hundred people were in attendance, from many parts of Michigan. Simultaneous Spanish translation was provided in headsets.

On Sunday, Dec 4, 2016, the Army Corps of Engineers announced that they would not allow Energy Transfer Partners to build the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) as planned.1 Today, Friday, Dec 9, 2016, Flint residents marched downtown to protest the pipeline anyway.

Last Thursday, Dec 1, 2016, the Michigan Organizer attended a rally in Grand Rapids to protest the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL). At the time, there was a similar rally scheduled in Lansing for Monday, Dec 5, 2016.

The Democratic Party renaissance continues. Last night in Ann Arbor, approximately 40 people attended a meeting called "Progressive Revolution in Ann Arbor," focused on bringing new people into the Democratic Party.
