Last Thursday, Dec 1, 2016, the Michigan Organizer attended a rally in Grand Rapids to protest the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL). At the time, there was a similar rally scheduled in Lansing for Monday, Dec 5, 2016.

This is a fundraiser for the standing rock reservation.
Recently there seems to have been a victory there and they are said to be rerouting the dakota access pipeline. But the fight is not over yet and there are still many court costs and medical bills to be dealt with by water protectors who were/are on the front lines. People will continue to stay there in camp until they feel that the water and land is safe ...and they still need our support. <3

Join us for a group art show to benefit The Rosebud Camp at Standing Rock. Over 100 artists from across the country have joined us by donating artwork in the united stand against the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) and all the negative things it represents for our Native brothers and sisters and this sacred planet we call Earth. Our goal is to raise funds and awareness via our most favorite means of expressing ourselves, our art.

Standing Rock has put out a call for a week of action culminating in a global day of action on December 1st.
Grand Rapids is answering that call. We will assemble to peacefully show our community that we demand justice and join the other actions to show that we will not be quiet as human rights and the dignity of our brothers and sister is grossly violated by corporate interests.
Thank you all who have raised your voices, taken action, and made the journey.
In Love we will overcome!
