Every year since 1958, people from all walks of life walk the Mackinaw Bridge on Labor Day. This will be a great day to show solidarity that Line 5 needs to be removed from the Mackinac Straits. This pipeline was built in 1953-it needs to retire!
They won't allow signs or banners to be carried so we have to get creative, like writing a message on a t-shirt. Please share your ideas and join us🌞💧we will be meeting on the St Ignace side of the bridge. 6:30am. Walk begins at 7am

Walk the Bridge to Shut Down Line 5

Join us at the Labor Day Bridge Walk - walk together in solidarity for shutting down Line 5, or help pass out stickers to raise awareness of the risky Line 5 pipeline.

Indivisible Environmental Action Committee

We've been focusing intensively on the fight to shut down line 5. At this meeting, we'll discuss getting local municipalities on board with the Ready for 100 campaign, (committing to 100% renewable energy in a certain time frame.) There will also be an intro to Citizens Climate Lobby and their efforts to get Congress to enact a carbon fee. There are usually cookies and snacks at this meeting. :-)

Picnic for Oil-Free Lakes with The GRWP

The GRWP is hosting a Saturday as part of the ongoing direct actions against Enbridge Line 5 at McGulpin Point Lighthouse.

Bring a dish to pass (nothing involving alcohol, please), signs and banners letting Enbridge know how you feel about Line 5, and a spirit of enjoying good food, good company, and a healthy Great Lakes ecosystem.

Is Mackinaw City a little far for a day trip? Yeah, for us, too, which is why we're planning to camp for the weekend. PM Grand Rapids Water Protectors for more information.
