To win a Green New Deal, we need to think BIG
Our movement is powerful. In the last two years, we’ve taken climate change from the sidelines to center stage. We’ve elected progressive champions. We’ve made the Green New Deal the leading solution to the climate crisis. Our movement has grown exponentially.

Sunrise Ann Arbor has been organizing for 10 months to ask Rep Dingell a simple question: will she back the Green New Deal, yes or no?
Last Friday, 40+ young people arrived at her Ypsilanti office, prepared to spend the night, even weeks, until Rep. Dingell would give us a clear answer. Instead of getting answers, 3 young constituents were arrested.
We came back Monday, November 25th, because the climate crisis is getting worse and we deserve answers. We found the office closed - for the week. The Dearborn office, however, is open.

Corporations and a wealthy few have destroyed the earth for profit, while workers, the poor, and people of color suffer the consequences.
We need system-wide change -- change that puts people over profits -- if we are going to save our communities, our planet, and our futures.

Beginning in December 2018, Sunrise has had several meetings with Rep. Debbie Dingell's staff in Washington DC and Ypsilanti, MI. In January, we met with Rep. Dingell herself. She has yet to endorse the Green New Deal resolution (that currently has 91 House Co-Sponsors and 12 Senate Co-sponsors). Additionally, the majority of the Democratic Presidential Candidates supports this resolution. In February, the voters of the Michigan Democratic Party passed a resolution supporting a Green New Deal.
