QUESTIONS FOR SEN. PETERS

1. Will you co-sponsor the Keep Families Together Act so that children are not separated from their parents at the border when attempting to immigrate?
2. Why did you co-sponsor the Bank Lobbyist Act that rolls back part of Dodd/Frank, and make our economy more vulnerable to another Great Recession caused by big banks?

Call to Activism Party - Stop the Separation of Families

Date:
Thu, Jun 14, 2018 - 6:30pm to 8:30pm

City:

This week's Call to Activism party at the WCDP office in Ypsi will focus on the inhumane practice of separating children from their parents at the border. Come at 6:30 for dinner & conversation. We'll begin making phone calls at 7 p.m. Come out & make a difference!

What is a call to activism party? It's a chance to meet like-minded people over a light dinner we provide. Each week, we discuss a Michigan legislative issue and then make advocacy calls to fellow strong Democrats to assist them in taking action.

Families Belong Together Rally - Ann Arbor

Date:
Thu, Jun 14, 2018 - 7:00pm to 9:00pm

City:

*Please note: Rally time moved back to 7 p.m.

We will hear from local residents who have had family members caught up in the ICE deportation machine.

We will also raise money for Demba Bagayoko. Demba has lived in Ann Arbor for 17 years and is facing deportation to Mali. We hope to retain a lawyer for him by his hearing on July 23rd. With no legal representation he will not be in a good position trying to go up against ICE in the courtroom by himself.
