September Rapid Response to ICE Training

Date:
Thu, Sep 21, 2017 - 6:00pm to 8:00pm

With the federal government threatening to take away DACA, continued push for building a wall at the US/Mexcian border and the blatant White Supremacy that can be seen on a daily basis, we need more people to be part of our Rapid Response to ICE work.

Defend DACA Mike Bishop!

Date:
Fri, Sep 8, 2017 - 4:00pm to 6:00pm

City:

It's blatantly obvious that #DACA overturn is nothing more than red meat for Trump's racist and xenophobic base. This is a statistical minority of people who do NOT represent our country as a whole. Lets remind Mike Bishop that we are a nation of immigrants and that we do not condone unjustified deportation of what some estimate could be up to two million Dreamers who -- like us -- are productive members of society who only wish to make a better life for themselves and their families. If you cannot attend, please share!

Press Conference on Sanctuary

Date:
Wed, Sep 6, 2017 - 11:00am to 12:00pm

City:

The Church of the Good Shepherd, United Church of Christ, joint with Washtenaw Congregational Sanctuary, is hosting a press conference to announce resistance to the Trump administration’s plans to deport millions of immigrants, which would separate families and devastate our communities. Since the 1980’s, the Sanctuary Movement has answered the call to welcome the stranger by providing safe haven to immigrants and refugees in need. Since President Trump’s election, faith communities have taken a strong stand to oppose increased enforcement by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
