Medicare For All

April chapter meeting & Medicare for All training + canvass

Date:
Sat, Apr 21, 2018 - 11:30am to 5:30pm

Next Saturday is DSA's Medicare for All Weekend of Action, and we are participating with a short M4A canvass training followed by actual canvassing! You don't have to be a DSA member or have canvass experience to attend and join in. All you need is a desire for a healthcare system that prioritizes the health of working-class Americans over the profits of insurance companies and their billionaire executives.

Hello all! We are experiencing a healthcare crisis in this country. Over 60% of bankruptcies are due to medical costs. We spend more on healthcare than any other country, yet experience poorer health outcomes than those who have universal healthcare. Health outcomes have been shown to be particularly poor in poverty-stricken, working-class, black and brown communities.

Michigan March for Medicare for All!

Date:
Mon, Jul 24, 2017 - 4:00pm to 6:00pm

City:

We know with the GOP proposed healthcare bill, 22 million people would loose their health coverage in the next decade, and this means an earlier death for many. With over 30% of our current health costs going to billing and administrative costs, we know we can do more for the 28 million who are currently uninsured. Also, our country shamefully has one of the highest infant mortality rates in the "developed" nations. I believe we can push our government to better represent and advocate for the majority of people.
