Line 5 Retirement Party!

Date:
Mon, Apr 23, 2018 - 6:00pm to 8:00pm

City:

It's time for the 65 year old, failing pipeline that runs under the water next to the Mackinaw Bridge to retire!

This lakeside house party is co-sponsored by Oil & Water Don't Mix, The League of Women Voters Ann Arbor Area, and RetireLine5.org. We'll munch a bit, watch the livestream video from Traverse City Opera House to get the latest update on Line 5, and talk with each other about the actions we can all take to shut this pipeline down before it makes Pure Michigan putrid.

Line 5 Retirement Party

Date:
Mon, Apr 23, 2018 - 5:30pm to 8:00pm

City:

April 23, 2018, marks the 65th anniversary of Enbridge’s easement that allows them to operate Line 5 in the Straits of Mackinac. It's time for Line 5 to retire because 65 years of this pipeline remaining as a threat to the Great Lakes is long enough.

Join us for this special event. We'll watch the livestream video from Traverse City Opera House, and talk with each other about the actions we can all take to shut this pipeline down.

We're providing food and beverages. Come for a great time to learn about this pipeline and how to take action this summer.

Shut Down Line 5 - Grass Roots Advocacy Night

Date:
Wed, Feb 28, 2018 - 7:00pm to 9:00pm

Come out to write to your State Representatives and Senators to encourage them to support the shut down of Line 5. Line 5 is an aging oil pipeline that runs through the Great Lakes, just west of the Mackinaw Bridge, which if broken, would contaminate 84% of North America's fresh water, and 21% of the world's fresh water. Paper, envelopes, and stamps will be provided, along with snacks! See you there.

WE NEED A HUGE TURNOUT FOR THIS EVENT!

Governor Snyder made a deal with an oil company (Enbridge) puts the Great Lakes at risk. He's making moves to tunneling under Lake Michigan, and exploring other high-risk 'alternatives' rather than decommissioning this dangerous pipeline.

DTE Public Hearing U-14803

Date:
Tue, Nov 28, 2017 - 9:00am to 12:00pm

City:

Last week was the deadline for filing a response for us rate payers to pay for the NEXUS pipeline. A pipeline that we did not want, did not need and we are being forced against our will to pay for. Attend if you can, support is needed. Evidently defunding the banks is not enough.
This hearing will be a prehearing conference to set future hearing dates and decide other procedural matters.
