Osceola Township versus Nestle in Circuit Court

Nestle is suing Osceola Township. Nestle has asked for a stay(delay) for the lawsuit until the DEQ makes a descion on their permit to pump 400 gallons a minute in Osceola Township near Evart. Osceola Township has denied Nestle's permit request for a booster pump station. Osceola Township does not want a delay on lawsuit. So we are asking people to come to the Osceola Court House,holding signs outside supporting Osceola Township at 10:30. The hearing begins at 11am on August 16th.

At this meeting, we'll discuss getting local municipalities on board with the Ready for 100 campaign, (committing to 100% renewable energy in a certain time frame.) There will also be an intro to Citizens Climate Lobby and their efforts to get Congress to enact a carbon fee. There are usually cookies and snacks at this meeting. :-)

Come to Calder Plaza on July 26th to learn about Enbridge's Line 5, the 64 year old twin oil pipelines running underneath the Straits of Mackinac that were only projected to have a 50 year lifetime, and yet they still have oil flowing through them. We will have knowledgeable speakers sharing information about this oil line, why it is so dangerous for our ecosystem and economy, and what you can do to help.

Please bring signs and friends to help raise awareness of this threat to the Great Lakes!
