Community Health Day

Sun, Jul 8, 2018 - 12:00pm to 4:00pm

Our goal is to bring the community together for a FREE, family-friendly event that supports a variety of approaches to physical, mental, and emotional health. Last year we saw the community come together in the wake of sanctuary cities. Safe spaces were established and we want to see that kind of community involvement continue. We believe that there are ways in which we can create a greater sense of safety, control and emotional peace as neighbors helping neighbors. Community Health Day will offer activities, educational services, and speakers to help the people of Lansing become happier, healthier, and more connected to their community. All parts of Community Health Day will be contributed by volunteers and local groups who believe that a community should take care of its members, and find away to make everyone feel safe and welcome.

Some of the events taking place are:
Capital Area District Libraries will be bringing their mobile library
Lansing Area AIDS Network will be offering free HIV testing
Capital Area Humane Society will have pets for adoption
Spartan Warrior Project will be guiding a Yoga class
Women's Self Defense
Home Budgeting
Kid's Hair Styling Workshop for Parents
Button Making
Voter Registration
Cookie Decorating

And it's all FREE thanks to neighbor's helping neighbor's
