KZOO Rally Against DAPL

Fri, Jan 27, 2017 - 3:00pm to 5:30pm

This morning, President Trump announced two Executive Orders that will advance the Keystone XL and Dakota Access pipelines. In solidarity with demonstrations around the country, Kalamazoo will stand up against the black snake and make our voices heard.

We will meet at Bronson Park at 3PM and march to area banks who are funding the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline. This is part of the overall struggle to DefundDAPL, and we will seek to draw attention to these corporations' complicity in the struggle and educate our fellow Kalamazoo residents on the importance of divesting their accounts from these companies.

Trump can make whatever executive orders he wants, but the people have the power to hit them where it hurts; their wallets. Indeed, in the era of Trump, active boycotting will prove more important than ever.

If you cannot make it to Friday's event, please put it upon yourself to independently organize for Saturday morning at area banks, and continue to educate your friends, family, and community about the importance of boycotting corporations that support DAPL, Keystone XL, and other hazardous pipeline projects.
