Michigan Caring Majority 2019 Strategy Convening

Date:
Sat, Jan 12, 2019 - 11:00am to 1:00pm

City:

The Michigan Caring Majority is excited about all the work that we will do together in 2019 to build our movement and fight for our human right to access care and be valued for the care we give! We are a movement and coalition of seniors, people with disabilities, family and informal caregivers, personal care assistants, domestic and direct care workers, home care providers and allies working together to build an equitable care infrastructure in Michigan.

In January 2019, the Long-Term Care Study in Michigan will begin! The study will do a rigorous needs assessment of the long-term care landscape and run an actuarial analysis of potential financing models. We are working with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) to get the study up and running this month. Michigan United will play a major role as the facilitator of the stakeholder committee, which will provide input and feedback to the state department throughout the duration of the study.

We are holding an important 2019 Policy Strategy Convening on Saturday, January 12th from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the First Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Ann Arbor to update folks on the timeline around implementation of the study AND to build our 2019 policy platform, which we will present at the Michigan United Strategy Summit on February 9th (see more at right).
RSVP now to help chart the course for the Michigan Caring Majority in 2019

Please join us as we build our movement to fight for the rights and dignity of all of us to access the care we need when we need it and to receive equitable compensation and respect for the care that we give.

With care,
The Michigan Caring Majority team
