Training: Sanctuary for Immigrant Families

Date:
Sat, Jan 28, 2017 - 12:00pm to 3:30pm

City:

Immigrant families are under more threat than ever. But communities are standing up and standing together to provide Sanctuary in the case of a new wave of raids and deportations. Please join Michigan United and the Washtenaw Interfaith Coalition for Immigrants Rights for a training on how your faith community can become a sanctuary.

Getting involved in Sanctuary can mean many things:
Providing housing, food and support to an immigrant family under imminent threat of deportation as part of a *public* protest campaign
Providing housing, food and support to an immigrant family under imminent threat of deportation as part of a *private* campaign
Organizing to support another congregation who is hosting a family
Getting engaged as a faith community in advocacy to promote welcoming of immigrants and refugees
Come find out more and get involved. Your faith and courage are needed now more than ever.
