Transit Justice General Assembly

Wed, May 8, 2019 - 6:00pm to 8:00pm

On May 8, we are hosting a general assembly to discuss a number of critical transit justice issues we are now facing in Detroit. Fares are increasing, riders are organizing, and new possibilities for transit funding are emerging at the state level.

Join the Motor City Freedom Riders and Detroit People's Platform for this important discussion about what must be done to win a better transit future. The venue is wheelchair accessible, children are welcome, and dinner will be provided.

We'll be discussing the following:
- Our growing coalition to win a reduced fare for low-income DDOT riders
- Regional Transit on the 2020 ballot
- The new gas tax and making sure transit gets its fair share
- Kicking off Motor City Freedom Riders 2019 board elections
