This conversation will unbox the invention of homosexuality, and what it means to be gay in a post colonial society. Gay culture has hierarchies, power and privilege based on race, class, and gender expression that should not go checked.

We’ll explore heteronormativity and the rigid lines its drawn for homosexuality. Narratives that majority cultures inscribe and gay culture reinforces. What it means to be Queer and its relationship to homosexuality.

Refreshments and snacks will be provided.

DSA Convention Info Meeting: Ask the Delegates

DSA’s convention is coming up August 1 - 4 in Atlanta, Georgia. The biannual convention is the highest governing body of DSA. HVDSA has 6 delegates + 1 alternative. The delegates will participate in discussion, debate, and decision making on a multitude of constitutional/by-law amendments + political/organizational resolutions.

The purpose of this event is to provide a space for rank and file members of our chapter to learn about the convention, DSA’s governing structure, and the resolutions/amendments. Delegates will be present to to discuss with members.
